Well, this didn't work out as well as my mom wanted it to...she's been way too busy with the holidays and other stuff!
Speaking of other stuff...Mom's daughter Nicole got married on January 1, 2010! She married a nice guy named Julian and they're very happy. Mom really liked the groom's family and friends and got to see a lot of people she hadn't seen in a while. Turns out that Julian's sister is married to the brother of Nicole's best friend, Jana. Now there's a cool family connection!
Mom went to the wedding and had a great time although she didn't get to spend New Year's with Dad. Dad stayed home to be with Grandma No-No and four of the other kids. It was quite the circus watching them all run around trying to pick up people, take people to the airport, and keep things going but, they did it in fine style with a smile on their faces!
The four kids live out west with their mother and visit as they are able. Kind of a crazy situation there but that's another story on another blog. They're great kids - Katherine, Daniel, Aimee, and Maggie. I really love Katherine because she calls me "Puppy" and makes me feel younger than I really am (which is a secret I refuse to tell because I was adopted at the Humane Society) and she pets me and talks to me a lot! I love the other kids too but Katherine has made me her special Puppy!
Grandma No-No came after Dad went to New Hampshire to pick her up. She's a lot of fun and I think she really likes me too! She talks real nice to me and is always ready to pet me. The kids don't get to see their grandma much either and I know Grandma No-No enjoys all the time she spends with the kids. She sure gave them a ton of Christmas stuff! Wow! Stuff to make, stuff to do, and lots of special things for all of them. Mom and Dad don't really know what to buy for them since they rarely see the kids and can't talk to them very often. (Again, part of the "other story".) They all make the best of the time they have together and look forward to more time in the future.
Daniel and Dad went for lots of walks and had hours of talk time. I think Daniel really missed his Dad. He often says he wants to spend more time here and Dad loves to spend time with Daniel. Sometimes other humans make decisions for the kids, which is necessary sometimes, but when it looks like a human is using the kids to get to the other parent, that's not such a good situation, I don't think. We just do the best we all can and I'm soooo happy to see those kids. I missed the other two, Joe and Sam. Joe's a college kid and he's at home this Christmas after spending Thanksgiving with Grandma No-No and Mom and Dad in New England. My friend, Bossco and I got to spend some timeat Houndstooth since the schedule was so busy. And to tell you the truth, Bossco is sooo excitable! He is such a sweet dog but he is rather big and he gets so excited over things that he doesn't always remember his manners. He barks a lot and Grandma's neighbors wouldn't much care for that. I, on the other hand, am such a gentleman! Mom and Dad always tell me and other humans what a good boy I am. I don't bark much and I am very well mannered. I picked that up from another human somewhere in my life.
Yawn...I'm about ready for a nap. I'll write more later but I really have to go now. See you in my dreams!
